Airtable Dark Mode is Here! 🌙News

Hey Airtable Community!We're thrilled to announce that one of the most requested features has finally arrived – Dark Mode is now available for Airtable in a public beta!Whether you're working late into the night, prefer a lower-contrast viewing experience, or simply love the sleek aesthetic, you can now switch to Dark Mode with just a click.How to enable Dark Mode:Click on your Account menu in the top right corner (your profile avatar) Select "Appearance" Switch to "Dark" or “Use system setting” (which will follow your general system preferences) This is available for everyone on web today, with Android and iOS support coming soon when we’re out of beta. If you notice any issues, please submit your feedback here so we can fix it. Help spread the word:Share your thoughts and screenshots of your apps in Dark Mode below! Important Update: Single Sign-On (SSO) for the Airtable Community will be required effective June 2ndNews

Hey Airtable Community! We're excited to announce an upcoming change that will streamline your experience within our vibrant community. Effective June 2nd, the Airtable Community will exclusively support login via Single Sign-On (SSO). This means the option to log in with a separate username and password will no longer be available after this date. What does this mean for you?This transition to SSO will provide a more unified login process. We believe this change will ultimately benefit everyone in the community. How do you swap over to SSO?The good news is that for most of you, the switch will be completely seamless! If the email address you currently use for your Airtable Community profile matches the email address associated with the SSO login you use to access Airtable, you won't need to do anything special. Share them in the comments below!  While it’s major travel season with summer breaks and all, we can’t forget to celebrate our members who continue to log in and help the community when they could be enjoying sunshine and the pool/beach. So here’s another celebration post for our Top Contributors in May!Reminder, top contributors are our outstanding members who elevate the Airtable experience for all by imparting knowledge and bringing a spirit of positivity and encouragement to the community. 🛠️ Recent interface improvements to dashboards

Hey Airtable Community! I'm ​@Ayesha_Bose from the Product team, and excited to share some small updates we’ve made to the Dashboard Layout in Interfaces recently over the last few weeks.These are some quick changes to help you build better dashboards and make it easier for you to use.You can now add, delete, and edit records directly in Dashboards! For example, if you have a List view in your Dashboard, you can give your users the ability to directly edit those records. We now support the Calendar view. We now support the Kanban view. We’d love to hear what you think about these improvements or if there’s any other areas of the dashboard layout you’d like to see improved.We’ve got more core improvements coming very soon, including one of our top requests from the Community next week — stay tuned! 🍿🌑😎

New: Portals Beta

Hello! I’m Ayesha, a Product Manager here at Airtable. We’re so excited to announce that we now have Portals available in Beta for customers to unlock guest access for their organization.   What are Portals and why would you use them? With Portals, you’ll be able to invite users outside of your organization as guest users to your interfaces. These guest users will see a custom sign-in screen and be able to collaborate inside your interfaces together. Hey Airtable community, ​@derekwu here with Airtable’s product team.We launched Managed Apps and components last September and we’ve seen customers use them to power some of their most important workflows. We’re excited to  launch a couple of new features for Managed Apps and components to expand where and how you can use them.Use Managed components with your existing tables and fieldsThis is a new capability that allows you to incorporate Managed components into existing workflows. While installing a Managed component, you’ll be able to reference existing tables and fields instead of always creating new ones. New: Trigger automations with emails to find insights in your inbox

As of today, you can now trigger automations when you receive an email, so you can turn your inbox into insights! 🎉  You can use automations to extract data such as the content, sender, and even attachments. Then use AI and automations to analyze and take action on that data.  This highly-requested feature allows you to turn unstructured email content into a clean data set that your organization can actually use to power workflows and make decisions.  For example, product teams constantly receive valuable customer feedback over email. Updated: Airtable Enterprise Network Nested under “Builders Board”, be sure to subscribe to the Enterprise Network!For Airtable enterprise customers, the Airtable Enterprise Network (“AEN”) is a dedicated space for enterprise users to connect, exchange ideas, and access exclusive resources tailored to their needs.In the previous Community experience, members would have to “request to join” and wait for a moderator to approve them before they had access to the Network. Now, the Enterprise Network is automatically visible to enterprise customers by logging in with SSO! Once logged in, members can find the Enterprise Network in the main navigation under Discussions -> Builders Board -> Enterprise Network. New formatting options for number fields

Hi Airtable Community! I'm Matt, a Software Engineer here at Airtable. We're excited to announce some new features of number fields that give you more control over how numeric data is formatted and abbreviated. To access these updates, create a Number field or configure an existing Number field.What's included in these updates?Format numbers for different languages. Using the new “Thousands and decimal separators” setting, you can format numbers automatically based on users' language preferences with the new “Local” option. For example, an English-speaking user sees 1,234.0 while a German-speaking user sees 1.234,0. You can also choose a specific format that applies to all users regardless of language preferences. Support for additional languages and regions will be available over the coming weeks.Control whether thousands separators are shown. You can choose to display a number or currency field with thousands separators (1,234,567.0) or without (1234567.0).Abbreviate large numbers. I

Trash: restore recently deleted items

With the new trash dialog, you can now restore mistakenly deleted items for up to seven days after deletion! More specifically, collaborators with creator and editor permissions can open up the trash to see the tables, views, fields, and records that have been deleted in a base in the past seven days. Creators can restore all items that appear in the trash, and editors can restore records and fields. Please note that the tables, fields, views, and records you delete will now be visible to editor- and creator-level collaborators for seven days unless you click the empty trash button from within the trash dialog. Emptying the trash will permanently remove everything in the trash, and only creators can empty the trash. For more information, check out the support article.
